This is a wonderful warming drink for days when the weather is starting to cool off. It is also great for fighting off colds (I think it is but I am not a nutritionist or health professional!), which I have to say I have my first one of the season. My sister’s family started with this a couple of weeks ago so I was hoping that I had managed to stave it off, however the headache, itchy throat and sniffles are a sure sign that I haven’t been so lucky.
In order to make this a wonderful drink to have in an evening when you are all curled up under blankets it is also great with a shot of brandy added at the end! But it is equally delicious without it!
Ingredients (serves 2)
- 4 pears
- 150g blackberries
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- optional 25ml brandy
Method
- Place the pears, blackberries and ginger in your juicer, according to the manufacturers instructions.
- Pour the juice in a pan and place it on a low heat, add the cinnamon and keep the pan on the heat until the juice is warm enough to drink!
Enjoy! H x
