In Season January

I’m having a very slow start to 2019. I’m not throwing myself into resolutions and restrictions but rather easing myself in, being kind to myself and trying to get some rhythm into daily life.

One thing I am attempting to do this year is make sourdough bread. We have always made our own bread in our household but I’ve never ventured into the scary world of sourdough! So far I am loving making sourdough, it takes longer overall to make with the longer proving times but very little actual hands on time. I just need to ensure I start making it early enough in the day so I’m not having to stay up late to bake it.

This post should have been written and posted on the 1st, however Rowan had a broken arm and croup so Hermione’s Pantry had to take a side step in order to give Rowan all of the love and attention to help him get better. He is now doing great, his arm is doing really well and is no longer in a sling and his croup has cleared up.

So here finally is my guide to what is in season in January.
